5.10.2 Column Graphs

A column graph visualizes data which is retrieved from the log records, e.g. the number of concurrent users, etc. The data for column graphs must be provided in their own columns. These columns are either created by a grammar (see Grammar Definition Dialog) or by a custom columns definition (see Custom Columns Definitions). In figure Example of a Column graph the y-axis displays the memory usage in percentage terms over time.

You can configure in the Graph Display Options... in the View menu several properties of the four Graph windows (see figure Graph Display Options dialog).

When you want to configure the appearance of the Graph windows as in figure Example of a Column graph or figure Graph Display Options dialog you have to tick all check boxes except Draw vertical.

When you want to visualize the occurrence of log records in a graph it is quite convenient to arrange the graphical representation of the records vertically next to the records of the Log window as shown in figure Vertical Graph window. When you want to do this tick the Draw vertical check box.
